I am a mathematician! I’m currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences. Before this, I was an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow and Lecturer at University of California, San Diego.

The mission of mathematics (and everything else) should be to promote human flourishing, including recognizing everyone’s human dignity and equipping them to reach their potential. Therefore, mathematicians must actively welcome marginalized groups while abolishing structural barriers and rooting out prejudice, move from a spirit of competition to a spirit of collaboration, and invest in the future of the human species. See Mathematics and Social Justice for learning resources.

I received a B.S. in math and B.A. in (Greek and Roman) Classics from the University of Washington in 2015. I finished my Mathematics Ph.D. at UCLA in 2020 under Dimitri Shlyakhtenko. My thesis Evolution equations in non-commutative probability can be found here. My postdoc mentor at UCSD was Todd Kemp and I also worked closely with Adrian Ioana and his students.

A few more points about me:

  • I love swing dance, photography, and roller-skating!
  • While in San Diego I regularly volunteered for San Diego Refugee Tutoring.
  • I am using my B.A. in Greek and Roman Classics to translate works of Leibniz from Latin into English together with Matthew McMillan.
  • I am (still) serious about protecting everyone from covid and I have worked on compiling a linktree / list of scientific information on it.
